Our waitress was straight garbage. I asked for the manager. OMG, Scott was so amicable and turned the situation around. I kept my word to him. He is the cook AND owner. He made one mean Carmel Pecan French toast!! That honey butter set it off. Definitely coming in again for that french toast. I sincerely hope that waitress gets her act together quickly, because she is definitely not a good look for Scott! Scott is very genuine and compassionate about his establishment and genuinely cares for his patrons. I appreciate you Scott!!!!
Love this place. We have been coming here for years. It's like a hidden spot cause whenever we go it's never busy. The food, service and atmosphere is great!
I loved Secret Garden Cafe when they were at the beach location, and I'm so happy that I can still get my favorite eggs benedict with fried green tomatoes... even though the drive is a little bit further. I also love that there are tomatoes with the home fries. So delicious! Great service and yummy food. Highly recommend! Update 1/21/22: visited again before noon on a Saturday and didn’t expect the crowd and long wait... almost an hour before seated. The hostess did not warn us of the long wait. My family and I waited in the side room full of other customers waiting. Although there were open tables, there were not enough staff to wait on all tables. Service and food were great when we were finally seated, but be prepared for a long wait.
Everything was delicious. We had the waffles. Meat omelet. Biscuit. Cheesy grits. Nice atmosphere. Clean bathrooms. Very good service. Definitely will come back again. The food came out quick.
This was my first time trying this restaurant. We had Yuri and he was amazing! We never ran out of drinks, our food came to us hot and in a quick manner. The food tasted amazing as well! We will definitely be coming back there for breakfast. It was quiet and cozy while we ate and was not busy at all on our Tuesday morning visit.
Had the best breakfast & most of it had nothing really to do with the food! Service, authentic restaurant & faire prices (& yes the food was incredible too) was so nice. Mary was my server. We enjoyed it. She was hospitalble, peesonable and an awesome waitress to my table. Definitely recommend this hidden gem in Jax if you're looking for a real diner ❤️
I was referred to The Secret Garden Cafe from open road Leathers down the street while I waited for something to be done. The lady serving me was very friendly helpful and attentive. The food came quickly and was simply delicious. I had pancake served with housemade cinnamon honey butter it was out of this world. Everything on the menu looked delicious and I will definitely be going back the next time I'm in the area highly recommend this place
Best fried green tomatoes EVER!!! Absolute perfection! 💚 we went on a Saturday at about 1pm, no line no wait. We were a group of 10 and everyone loved their meal. I had the turkey sandwich- delicious!!! The sweet potato tater tots were amazing. French fries- just right!if you’re going to eat eggs Benedict, go with the Secret Garden one. If you’re in Jax you must eat here! Btw… follow them on social media and be on the lookout for their famous Montecristo!
The food here is absolutely delicious! The corned beef is made in-house (not the canned stuff) and you can really taste the difference—so tender and flavorful. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly crispy, and the sprinkle of goat cheese with both sauces tied everything together beautifully. A great spot with quality food that feels thoughtfully prepared.
Great time! Food was great, was a little slow getting the food but once we got it, it was delicious. Dominique was our server and she was amazing! The caramel pecan waffle was heavenly. We will be back
